Caring for your jewellery

Made by hand to last a lifetime — a little care keeps it looking the way it left the bench.

Fine jewellery is more resilient than it looks, but a few simple habits go a long way.

Everyday wear

Put your jewellery on last, after fragrance, lotion and hairspray, and take it off first — before showering, swimming, cleaning or the gym. Chlorine, salt water and household chemicals are the usual culprits behind dullness and damage.

Cleaning at home

For most pieces, a bowl of warm water with a drop of mild washing-up liquid and a soft brush is all you need. Rinse, then dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners on emeralds, opals, pearls and any treated or fracture-filled stones.

Storage

Store pieces separately so they can’t scratch one another — a lined box or individual pouches are ideal. Keep chains loosely fastened to prevent tangling, and store away from heat and direct sunlight.

Professional care

ring your piece back to us once a year and we’ll clean and polish it, check the settings and claws, and re-rhodium white gold if needed — complimentary for Ikonic pieces. It’s the surest way to catch a loose stone before it’s lost.

Bring it back to us

Whatever it needs — a clean, a resize, a repair, or a full remodel — we’re here.
